Poster Making and Essay Writing Contests of DepEd – Dipolog City Division for the National Disaster Resilience Month Celebration were successfully done last Thursday, July 4, 2019 in Miputak East Central School Covered Court.

This year’s National Disaster Resilience Month theme, “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago” served as guide for the contestants in motivating their respective minds in creating posters and drafting write-ups that show readiness and resiliency in times of danger and disaster.

In the said competitions, the best in the different districts of the City Schools both from elementary and secondary participated. Aaron Matthew Z. Landicho of DPDS bagged 1st place in the Poster Making Contest with coach Ms. Mary Gold M. Opre. Special Education Center’s Jazz Hamish P. Ybañez ranked 2nd. His coach was Ms. Mary Cris J. Barbaso and Kay Francine G. Ongsuco of Estaka Central School with coach Ms. Love Lei C. Davenport captured the 3rd slot.

On the other hand, essay writing contest was participated by the students and coaches of secondary schools. Erequeen Kate R. Fernandez of Galas National High School emerged as 1st placer, followed by Niño Neil P. Tapiz of the newly created Miputak National High School got the 2nd place and Emman Renzo P. Laquio of Punta National High School settled for 3rd place. The winning coaches of the respective winners are Ms. Emelyn D. Benitez of GNHS, Mr. Jesse P. Samaniego of MNHS, and Mr. Francis Don L. Singson of PNHS.

Mr. Neil Nonato F. Sebastian, DepEd City Division’s DRRM Coordinator stated that the NDRM competitions are constantly supported by the City Government of Dipolog. He stressed further that the champions for both poster and essay writing will participate in the upcoming Regional NDRM contests on July 15, 2019 in Pagadian City.
