DIPOLOG CITY, May 11, 2024 — This year’s Division Research Congress (DRC), spearheaded by Dr. Ma. Liza R. Tabilon and organized by Senior Education Program Specialist in Research, Atty. Terence Eyre B. Belangoy, marked a significant achievement.

Forty-two researchers from across the Division of Dipolog City convened to present their groundbreaking work. Held from May 10 to 11, the Congress served as a focal point for intellectual exchange and innovation, with a central objective of fostering collaborations to address key issues in teaching and education.

The event featured a diverse array of research themes, spanning basic research and action research in Teaching and Learning, Governance, DRRM, HRD, and Child Protection. The 2024 DRC doubled as a professional development opportunity, providing invaluable training in research for research coordinators.

The opening day commenced with an impactful address by Hon. Marilou Y. Calibo, Chair of the Committee on Education, who emphasized the transformative potential of research. Prof. Mahal B. Rosel then conducted a session on crafting award-winning research posters.

On the following day, the congress welcomed Dr. Teresito C. Bacolcol, Director of DOST-Phivolcs, fresh from Taiwan, who eloquently underscored the practical applications and real-world implications of research.

Parallel sessions ran throughout both days, facilitating in-depth discussions and knowledge sharing. This year’s Research Congress shattered previous records with a total of forty-two research presentations, surpassing last year’s thirty-eight.

At the conclusion of the event, Atty. Belangoy extended heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all participants for their contributions to this milestone event.

Researchers are poised to submit new outputs in the succeeding months.
