PAGADIAN CITY, February 20, 2024 – DepEd Dipolog gears up for the Contingency Planning Training of Trainers, organized by the Department of Education Regional Office IX in collaboration with the Office of Civil Defense. The training, scheduled from February 20 to 23, 2024, is being held at Bay Plaza, Pagadian City.
Aligned with international commitments such as the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) 2015-2030 and national legislation (RA 10121), this initiative underscores the importance of developing comprehensive contingency plans for both natural and human-induced hazards.
Recognizing the critical role of educators in disaster risk reduction and management, the training aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to formulate effective contingency plans responsive to worst-case disaster scenarios.
Today marks the commencement of the training, where non-teaching personnel, educators, and officials from the DepEd Dipolog Division will converge to engage in intensive sessions focused on disaster preparedness and response.
The training underscores the importance of proactive measures in ensuring the safety and well-being of schools and communities in times of crisis.
